BOARD OF TRUSTEES

 

Jack Saelid

Mr. Saelid has been very active in his residential communities. He serves on the Auburn Sister City Committee and is a former Chairman; he has also served for several years as a member of the board of the Auburn Respite Program. Before moving with his family to Auburn, he was Mayor and Councilman for the City of Arcadia California, during which time major growth in the business sector was encouraged to broaden the tax base of the City.

Following his eight years as an elected member of the City Council, and as President of the Arcadia High School Music Club, Jack organized and conducted a music tour for the marching band of 200 students to Australia, and Arcadia’s Sister City of Newcastle. Nine years later, he was asked by the School District to repeat this adventure, and again organized and conducted a tour for the Band and Orchestra to Australia. He maintains strong and friendly relations with citizens of Australia.

Mr. Saelid is a graduate of the University of Arizona with a Bachelor of. Science degree in Electrical Engineering. During his time in Tucson, he was Chief Engineer and designed and built recording and control facilities for two radio stations, KTKT, and KAIR. He was an Enlisted man in the Arizona Air National Guard, based in Tucson, and later after moving to California, he received a commission in the California Air National Guard.

Jack and his wife Barbara are active members of the Maple Valley Presbyterian Church. Before the family’s relocating to Washington, Jack had served as both a Deacon and an Elder of Arcadia Presbyterian Church.

Mr. Saelid has shown a deep commitment to developing Landmark on the Sound as a means of providing services to Freemasons throughout the State of Washington. He considers the property in Des Moines to be an invaluable asset to the fraternity, and the focal point from which services can be developed to serve the needs of all members of the fraternity and its’ related bodies wherever they may reside within the State of Washington.
